Physical Therapy Has Begun

I went back to see Dr. Lemak yesterday and he said everything looked good. I can now start bearing weight and by weeks end hopefully be off crutches. Next week he wants me to try getting out of my lovely boot. Which I will be so glad but I am sure I will be paranoid because it provides so much protection. My muscle tone is terrible. You can tell with the visual eye that my entire right leg and calf is smaller than my left. It's amazing how quick your muscles can atrophy.

I also started PT (physical therapy) yesterday. I was lucky to get in the same day. The session went really well. A little pain and discomfort involved. I have hardly no movement in my ankle. They did measurements before we started and Dana said "well its zero" I said Oh, that's good. Her reply "zero is neutral position". Oh, not so good. I have a long way to go to get, hopefully, full range of motion back.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Today is Andy & Brandy's 3rd anniversary. Although they have been married for 3 years, they have only lived together as man and wife for only half of it. Those months spent apart Andy was serving our country over in Iraq, seeing and doing things that we could only vaguely imagine. He is now safe at home helping recruit young men and women to brave the wars that are still going on today. Hope you guys have a great day. I Love You.

Date Night

Can I get a WOO HOO!!! My mom was gracious enough to come stay with us tonight and allow Tim & I to have a date night. Well she pretty much insisted (she usually comes and stays with us about once every couple of weeks but we always stay at home). She knows how stressful it has been on the both of us these past 4 wks. So we took her up on it and went to Firebirds. One of our favorite places to get a great meal. We both had a great time. It was nice to be able to sit back relax and talk without having to referee the kids or be interrupted while we are trying to talk. All you parents know what I am talking about. Its par for the course. We had a fabulous meal. We both had prime rib, which is to die for. A BIG thanks to mom (aka Granna) for keeping the kids while we got out for a bit.

HELP!!!

Okay, call me a retard, computer illiterate, or what ever you want. But I need help uploading pictures from my email, snapfish account, or just off a url not just my computer that I have uploaded myself. I have done everything I know to do. Anybody out there who is willing to help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!!

Our Little Girl Is Growing Up

Today Brooke will start transitioning into Toddler 2 class. Her teachers told Tim she was way smarter than the other kids in her room and it was time for her to move up. Can you believe it? The child we once thought would be delayed and challenged is the smartest in her class. Way to go Brooke!!!! And she doesn't turn 2 until Feb 28th. This is very exciting. She will now start potty training, drinking from a big girl cup, and sitting at a big girl table. Along with many more things. All you moms know what I am talking about.  I can not be anymore thrilled.

The picture below has nothing to do with this post. But I thought it was so cute. Brooke loves standing on a stool while I am getting ready. I wear the bandana when I wash my face so that is what she is doing.

School Has Begun

This week is the start of my journey toward pursuing my BSN. I will be taken a Literature class and a Nutrition class. My lit class is going to be HELL!!! My instructor has already posted the entire syllabus for the whole semester. There is a total of 60 summaries and 60 annotations I have to write. That's 120 total short papers. Plus 2 test, 1 essay MLA-format, and the final exam.
Where do I start? There are assignments due weekly but if we can we can get as far ahead as we want. I guess I should take advantage of it since I am out of commission for a while longer. As for my nutrition class my instructor has yet to post any assignments. We will see. I am going to need all your prayers that I will live make it through this lit class. Until next time. Hope you all are having a great day. Enjoy the sun. It's the first we have seen of it in a while.

2 Week Follow Up

Yesterday I had my 2 wk post-op follow up with Dr. Lemak. It went well. He said everything is healing nicely and it is just going to take time. There is still a lot of bruising and swelling. He said it could take a few months for this to resolve. I still have 3 more wks of non-weight bearing. Ugh!!! My sutures were removed which feels better but not at the time. Ouch!! I go back and see him in 4 wks. At that time he will set me up with physical therapy. In the mean time I can start taking my boot off and moving my ankle around a bit. Below are a few pics. The pics look better than my foot and ankle look in person.

The lovely boot.
